Fire Hydrant Flushing

Each spring and fall, the Fire Department flushes water lines through the City’s fire hydrants. Hydrant flushing is an important preventive maintenance activity that maintains the integrity of the water system and enables the Fire Department to ensure hydrants are in working order.

Hydrant flushing signs are attached to the hydrants the day before flushing is scheduled.

The Fire Department flushes hydrants by districts. Review the Hydrant District Street list or the Hydrant District Map, then view the calendar to see when the hydrants in your area will be flushed.

View the Hydrant Flushing FAQ for more information on what to do during and after hydrant flushing. Call the Fire Department at 491-1200 or 491-1215 with additional questions.
