Dateline: July 9, 2017- The Shaker Heights Police Department is recruiting for several immediate vacancies. Starting salary: $47,365-$76,019, depending on experience. Applications are now available and must be returned Saturday - Wednesday, August 12 - August 16. Only the first 80 applications will be accepted. 

City Receives Arts-Based Community Development Award

Moreland district one of 89 National Endowment for the Arts Our Town projects selected nationwide

Dateline: July 14, 2017- National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced 89 awards totaling $6.89 million supporting projects across the nation through the NEA’s Our Town program.  Shaker Heights is one of the recommended organizations for a grant of $50,000 to support public art, art events, and cultural planning and design of public places for the Moreland district. The NEA received 274 eligible applications for Our Town this year and will make grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000.


Warrensville/Chagrin Below Ground Electrical Work Begins Wednesday, July 19

Expect Traffic Delays

Dateline: July 13, 2017- First Energy begins below ground electrical work on Warrensville near the intersection of Chagrin on Wednesday, July 19. The work will take place from 8 am - 4 pm and will take approximately four weeks (weather permitting).

Soofa seating installed in Hildana Park - first of its kind in all of Ohio

Dateline: June 20, 2017 - Soofa is a bench -- a solar-powered, sleekly designed, first-of-its-kind-in-Ohio, phone-charging bench. It’s a place to sit down, plug in, and get connected. And two of them were recently installed in Hildana Park on Chagrin Boulevard, west of Lee Road in the Moreland neighborhood.
