City Names New Finance Director
Dateline: June 7, 2016 - David A. Pfaff will be the City’s new finance director, effective July 12, 2016. Pfaff joins Shaker from the City of Beachwood, where he served as finance director since 1999. He succeeds former Finance Director Matthew Rubino.
Pfaff’s career in public service and finance spans nearly three decades. During his tenure in Beachwood, Pfaff was actively involved in Tax Increment Financing and other complex financial transactions. In addition, for 16 consecutive years, Pfaff received the Government Finance Officers Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
“David’s comprehensive background includes all aspects of finance operations,” says Mayor Earl M. Leiken. “His proficiency and experience make him well-suited to maintain Shaker’s exceptional record of fiscal responsibility.”
Pfaff is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Akron. He lives in Copley, Ohio. “I look forward to working to provide the highest level of service to the residents of the City of Shaker Heights,” says Pfaff.
