Shaker Boulevard Repaving Project Begins April 10

Public meeting scheduled April 4

Dateline: March 27, 2017 - Shaker Heights will begin a major road repaving project on Shaker Boulevard on Monday, April 10. The contractor anticipates that the project will last until early November, weather permitting. There will be four phases to the project:

Limits

During each phase, Shaker Blvd. will be closed in both directions, east- and westbound, to through traffic. Doing so will shorten the duration of the project by several months. There will be no on street parking between 7 am and 6 pm. Permits for side-street parking during these hours will be distributed to residents who live along Shaker Blvd.

Motorists should find alternate east/west routes through the City for the duration of the project. All dates are approximate since the timing of each phase is dependent upon weather conditions. Expect heavy traffic on S. Woodland, in particular.

The City will hold a public meeting on April 4 at 7 pm at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building, 3450 Lee Rd., to discuss the project phasing and maintenance of traffic.
