Second Annual Shaker Makers Event (With a Twist)
Makers convene on April 28
The City of Shaker Heights hosts its second Shaker Makers event, a show-and-tell-and make-and-touch AND a build-a-business event (that’s the twist). Innovators, creators, engineers, artists, and entrepreneurs of all ages will share their ingenuity, creativity and talents with the public at The Dealership, 3558 Lee Road from 11 am – 4 pm on Saturday, April 28.
This year’s Shaker Makers extravaganza is hosted by the City in partnership with Ingenuity Cleveland and the Youth Entrepreneurship Institute at University School. Highlights include an in-depth workshop offered by the Economic Community Development Institute (ECDI) that invites makers to explore business concepts so they can transition from crafter to master. This free, family-friendly event promises an array of interactive discussions, demonstrations, shopping opportunities at the Youth Entrepreneur Market, and an abundance of energy and inspiration. Food from Zest Cleveland Catering will be available for purchase all day.
The maker community, which hosts events around the world that promote and celebrate technology, design and creativity, inspired this Shaker Makers event.
