New 2016 Projects
On Tuesday, October 11, or Wednesday, October 12, crews will begin to install stamped concrete on Lee Road in front of the Police Department. This section was affected by the Dominion East Ohio gas line replacement project. Northbound traffic will shift to the west side of Lee for four days, weather permitting.
The Rapid rail crossing at West Park will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic from Wednesday, September 21 until Monday, October 10 for reconstruction. Traffic on Shaker Boulevard in this area will be reduced to one lane in each direction (east and west). There will be no rapid stop at West Park during the construction period. Green line trains will run normally except on September 24-25 and October 1-2, when buses will replace trains, east of Shaker Square. Learn more about the reconstruction.
The final phase of the Dominion East Ohio gas line replacement project on Lee Road begins Tuesday, September 20 with the paving of the northbound lane of Lee between Van Aken and South Park. This portion of Lee will be closed for 7-10 days, from 7 am-7 pm, depending on the weather. The southbound lanes of Lee will be used for two-way traffic, one lane in each direction. All vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Southington Rd. across Shaker Blvd. will be prohibited Monday, August 8 through Friday, August 26 for reconstruction of the intersection’s Green Line rail crossing. There will be no stop at Southington during the three-week construction period. Green line trains will run normally except on August 13-14 and 20-21, when buses will replace the trains, east of Shaker Square. Learn more about the reconstruction.
The northbound lane of Lee between Van Aken and South Park will be closed in phases beginning Thursday, March 17 through late July 2016 (weather permitting) to accommodate a gas line replacement by Dominion East Ohio. Learn more about the project.
Street Improvements will be peformed beginning beginning mid-April. View a list of streets scheduled for resurfacing.
The City’s Pavement Marking begins the week of May 23. Work occurs during the hours of 7 pm to 6 am throughout the City. The primary reason for performing this work at night is for the safety of the motoring public and the workers. We understand that having a construction project in your neighborhood is an inconvenience and your patience is appreciated. Weather permitting, the contractor will complete the project by August 10, 2016.
