Track Improvements Planned at Two Blue Line Crossings; Residents Invited to Attend Public Meeting
March 10, 2010 - The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) will replace existing grade crossings, transit track, and sidewalks in the immediate vicinity of two crossings in Shaker Heights with a new concrete crossing surface, asphalt road approaches, new transit track, and new concrete sidewalks beginning on April 16. Streets will be closed during construction, which will take 8 to 10 days to complete.

City, Shaker Arts Council & Ohio Designer Craftsmen Schedule Shaker Heights Arts & Music Festival
February 15, 2010 - The City of Shaker Heights and the Shaker Arts Council join with the Ohio Designer Craftsmen to present the first Shaker Heights Arts & Music Festival on June 19 and 20. The Festival combines the two-day crafts event formerly held at Hathaway Brown with the seventh annual return of the Shaker Summer Solstice.

City to Present Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Relations Award to MyCom
January 8, 2010 - The Shaker Heights Human Relations Commission has chosen the MyCom South Shaker Youth Initiative Team for its 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for Human Relations.
The awards presentation will be held on January 20 at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building, 3450 Lee Road at 7:00 PM. Felton Thomas, Jr., director of the Cleveland Public Library, will speak and the Shaker Community Band, led by Luiz Coelho, will perform.

Warrensville/Van Aken Project Receives $500,000 in Federal Funding
December 17, 2009 - The City of Shaker Heights has been awarded $500,000 in the 2010 Omnibus Appropriations Act, which was sponsored by Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge and Senator Sherrod Brown.

H1N1 Vaccinations Offered for Priority Groups
November 11, 2009 - The Shaker Heights Health Department will distribute H1N1 vaccine at the Shaker Middle School, 20600 Shaker Blvd. from 10 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 14. The vaccine continues to be available only to those in the following priority groups:
