Large Items for Disposal

Free large item drop-offs are accepted on Saturdays year-round. Bring items to the Service Center (15600 Chagrin Blvd.) on Saturdays only 8 am-4 pm. Please note:

  • Only residents of Shaker Heights may drop off items, and only for the property or unit in which they live. Bring a driver's license and current utility bill (within 90 days) or vehicle registration as proof of residency.
  • One drop off per household per quarter (quarters are Jan-March, April-June, July-Sept, Oct-Dec).
  • If you have special circumstances that warrant an additional drop off, please send an email request to Public Works. Include your name, address, and the reason for exception.
  • Disposal is self-serve.
  • Our goal is to let everyone drop off their items quickly and efficiently while meeting the strict licensing of acceptable materials. This service is meant for items that need to be discarded that would typically fit in a car or pickup truck.
