The Recreation Department is pleased to offer year-round programming for adults. Get moving in a fitness class; discover the joys of learning a new sport; or participate in an adult enrichment program.
The Recreation Department offers opportunities for preschoolers to learn ice skating, swimming, or a variety of team sports including basketball and soccer in an age-appropriate setting. Or take part in imaginative play, art, or dance at one of our preschool enrichment programs.
Regardless of their interests, there’s an excellent chance that the Recreation Department has the perfect program for your school-age child. We offer a variety of youth enrichment programs, as well as youth sports including basketball, soccer, football, and tennis. The Recreation Department also offers a variety of youth aquatics and ice skating classes, as well as a robust youth hockey program. During the summer, we offer a variety of camps that are sure to make your child’s summer a terrific one.
The Recreation Department offers a variety of social and enrichment programs for senior adults including brown bag bingo, trivia sessions, and Wednesday movies. Monthly AARP meetings and coffee, cookies, and conversation sessions feature informative speakers and occasional entertainment. Senior adults can also join other community members for friendly competition during our open pool/billiards sessions, open bridge sessions, and kings and queens game days. All of these social and enrichment programs are free of charge, and transportation to and from the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building can be arranged through the Senior Transportation Connection. Senior adults can also participate in a variety of ongoing health and fitness programs, including monthly podiatry care. Some of the most popular events at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building are our seasonal senior adult luncheons, which bring the community together to enjoy a meal, entertainment, and the company of friends and neighbors.
