Seasonal Activities
At Thornton Park, there are so many ways to enjoy being outside any time of year. In the snowy winter months, residents catch chilly thrills on the sledding hills. When the temperatures rise, kids and adults alike practice swinging for the fences in our batting cages, or they can take to the courts - Thornton Park offers outdoor sand volleyball, tennis and basketball. The Skatepark is a popular attraction too, offering skateboarders and inline skaters a safe place to practice new moves.
Basketball courts are open year-round, weather-permitting. A Basketball Court pass and photo ID are required at all times. Trespassing will result in forfeiture of season pass privileges.
Court Hours
- Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or dusk if earlier
- Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. or dusk if earlier
