State of Ohio Amended Public Health Orders
Social Distancing, Facial Coverings, Non-Congregating Mandate
On April 5, 2021, the State of Ohio rescinded nearly all of the prior health orders issued during the pandemic. Still, with the pandemic ongoing, the State of Ohio issued an amended order on April 8, 2021, which requires continued Social Distancing, Facial Coverings and Non-Congregating. Read the full text of the mandate here.
Wear a Mask!
Continue to require all persons to wear a mask inside your business location. The order states that facial coverings are REQUIRED at all times when: (i) indoors (not in a residence); (ii) outdoors and unable to maintain six foot distance; and (iii) using public transportation or ride sharing.
Some exceptions to mask-wearing apply, including when seated and actively consuming food or beverage in a restaurant. The order specifically states that six feet of separation is still required between tables at restaurants and bars unless there is a physical barrier, and no more than 10 persons may be seated per table.
Keep Your Distance
Under the order, social distancing requirements include: maintaining at least six-foot social distancing from other individuals, washing hands with soap and water for at least twenty seconds as frequently as possible or using hand sanitizer, covering coughs or sneezes (into the sleeve or elbow, not hands), regularly cleaning high-touch surfaces, and not shaking hands. Designate with signage, tape, or by other means six-foot spacing for employees and customers in line to maintain appropriate distance.
All businesses must continue to post clearly visible signage at all entrances stating that all persons entering must wear a facial covering and engage in social distancing at all times. Approved and sample signage is available here for you to print and post.
