First Energy Line Clearance Work

Graphic for construction update notice

Davey Tree, a contractor for First Energy, will be performing line clearance work throughout the City in 2020. Line clearance involves pruning tree branches along power lines. The majority of the work is in residential back yards. Davey Tree will leave door hangers on residents’ doors informing them of the pending work.

There are two phases to the project.

  • Now through March (weather permitting), Davey Tree will be working in the western end of the City (view a map). Work is now underway in the Boulevard neighborhood and will continue into the Ludlow and Moreland neighborhoods in the coming weeks. Work hours will be weekdays from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
  • Later this year, Davey Tree and a second contractor, Asplundh, will be working in the Mercer neighborhood. That work is tentatively scheduled to start in October.
