Updated September 16: Aldersyde Rd. will be paved on Friday, September 17. The contractor had intended to pave the road on September 16, as school is out of session, but this week's rains required a day delay. We will work to minimize the inconvenience to students and school personnel.
A major waterline improvement project will begin on Aldersyde the week of June 21. The scope of work entails installation of a new waterline on Aldersyde Road between Lee Road and Onaway Road. After the waterline has been installed, the road will be resurfaced. The waterline replacement and resurfacing is scheduled to be completed by mid-September.
As part of the project, temporary bypass is need to be installed for continued water use. In general, the contractor will need to connect the temporary service connection to the hose bib located on the outside of the house. If this is not an option, the contractor may need to enter the property but will provide proper identification. All residents within the construction area will be able to access their homes. Refuse pick-up access will be maintained as well.
Public Works will be coordinating with Shaker Heights High School & Fire Department to minimize the impacts to the community.
Damage to curbs, driveways, sidewalks, and tree lawns due to the construction activity will be repaired at no cost to the residents.
When the work begins, street parking will be prohibited on Aldersyde Road between 7 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Note, only local traffic will have access to this portion of Aldersyde Road during construction.
