In 2019, the City, the Shaker Heights Public Library, and the Shaker Heights City School District launched Forward Together, a joint initiative to create a Facilities Master Plan for Shaker Heights. A Facilities Master Plan sets the future direction for a community's public facilities, including buildings (i.e. schools, libraries, and other public buildings) and public amenities (i.e.parks and playgrounds).
The goal of Forward Together is to create a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan for the entire community.
In 2019, the community came together in a series of public meetings to create a vision for Shaker's facilities. The Advisory Committee will be part of a team, which includes staff from the City, Schools, Library, and consultants working to turn the community's vision into the Facilities Master Plan.
Applications for the Advisory Committee are due by August 1. Click here to learn more about Forward Together and apply.
Note: Paper applications are available at the Shaker Heights Public Library's Main Library (16500 Van Aken Blvd.) or Bertram Woods branch (20600 Fayette Rd.).
