Construction will continue on this project for the next few weeks (weather permitting), including minor utility work, concrete/paver installation, lighting installation and tree planting. Contractors will begin planting more than 100 trees at the end of this week.
Orange barrels will reappear in short, temporary segments around the immediate work areas as various project components are installed. These areas will continue to fluctuate along the corridor until winter weather halts work for the season. Traffic in both directions will be maintained, though motorists should anticipate delays.

The construction zone will be back up along the northbound curb lane of Warrensville Center Rd. beginning Thursday, October 10. The zone will shrink or expand based on the work underway over approximately the next month.
Weather permitting, the schedule for the next few weeks includes:
- Oct 9: Pedestrian signal work
- Oct 10-11: Concrete work at Chagrin (NE corner) and Norwood; Shaker Rocks parking lot
- Oct 14: Dominion begins vault work in front of the church (approximately 1-2 weeks)
- Oct 14-15: Farnsleigh catch basins
- Oct 15: Installation of granite curbs & pavers begins in front of UH, the Post Office and at Chagrin corners (approximately 2 weeks)
- Oct 24: Landscape installation begins (approximately 2 weeks)
Updated September 27
Construction will resume Monday, September 30 at the Warrensville/Chagrin intersection, weather permitting. A daily work zone will be established around the northeast corner of the intersection, which will include lane closures:
- The northbound curb lane of Warrensville will be closed before and after the intersection.
- The westbound curb lane of Chagrin will be closed in front of Rite Aid.
A police officer will be on site to help with traffic flow and pedestrian crossing.

Much of the concrete work for the new walkway is complete. Orange barrels have been temporarily removed from Warrensville Center Rd. while the contractor prepares for future phases.
Construction is expected to resume at the intersection of Warrensville/Chagrin on or about September 24, and continue off and on as various elements of the project are installed. Landscaping on Farnsleigh and Warrensville will be installed in October 2019 and continue into the spring 2020 planting season if necessary.
Much of this work will require temporary closure of travel lanes along Warrensville in specific work zones. Traffic in both directions will be maintained, though motorists should anticipate delays.
All traffic pattern changes and detours will be signed throughout the project duration. Access to all businesses will be maintained during construction. All dates are approximate as the timing of each phase is dependent upon the weather. Expected completion is spring 2020.

Work begins this week at the Warrensville/Chagrin intersection and will progress north along Warrensville. The eastbound curbside lane of Chagrin will be closed east of Warrensville for approximately two weeks. Traffic in both directions will be maintained, though motorists should anticipate delays. Pedestrian access around the intersection will change frequently as construction phases change. Pedestrian routes will be marked, but please use caution and stay out of active construction areas.
Work along Farnsleigh is expected to be substantially complete in early August.

All excavation work south of Chagrin will be completed by the end of this week. Work continues along Farnsleigh Rd. near Shaker Rocks and Thornton Park. On Monday, July 15 (weather permitting), the contractor will begin working at the southeast corner of the Warrensville Center Rd./Chagrin Blvd. intersection. This will require closure of the northbound curb lane on Warrensville Center Rd. at the intersection. Motorists should anticipate delays.

Construction will start next week on the City's new multipurpose path in the Van Aken District. The 10-foot wide path will run on the northbound curbside lane on Warrensville Center Rd., from the southern City limit (just south of Scottsdale Blvd.) through the Van Aken District to Farnsleigh Rd., where it will turn right and continue on the north side of Farnsleigh Rd. to Thornton Park. The project will include curbs, crosswalks, lighting, landscaping, benches, and signage.
Phase 1 (begins week of June 24): The westbound curbside lane of Farnsleigh Rd. will be closed between Warrensville Center Rd. and Thornton Park. Traffic in both directions will be maintained , through motorists should anticipate delays. This phase of the project is anticipated to take 3-4 weeks.
Phase 2 (TBD): The northbound curbside lane on Warrensville Center Rd. will be closed from south of Scottsdale Blvd. to north of the Farnsleigh Rd. intersection. Traffic in both directions will be maintained, though motorists should anticipate delays.
