In response to confirmed cases of coronavirus in Ohio, the Shaker Heights Recreation Department is revising its programming schedule effective March 13 - April 30. This is part of the City's effort to combat the spread of coronavirus with social distancing protocols.

Following is a list of canceled and/or modified programming. Refund information is provided at the bottom of this email.

Adult Programs

Taiji Quan and Qigong, Ballroom Dancing, Agata’s Bootcamp Conditioning—Canceled.

Preschool Programs

Aquatics—Canceled.

Magical Munchkins, Tiny Movers, and Star Shiners—Modified to begin after May 1.

Bitty Basketball—Spring Session 1 will be combined with Spring Session 2.

Mini Kickers Soccer—Canceled or modified to begin after May 1.

Micro Soccer Spring—Spring Session 1 to be combined with Spring Session 2.

Youth Programs

Basketball

Spring Break Camp, Junior Raider Pee Wee Instructional Program, Junior Raider Pick Up Basketball Spring 3 on 3—Spring Session canceled.

Football

Junior Raider Youth Football Flag Football and Skills Clinic with Coach Nicholson—Canceled.

Golf

Junior Learn to Play, Junior Intermediate Gold, Parent and Child Clinic, Tiger Cubs—Canceled.

Soccer

Intro Skills—Spring Session canceled.

Softball

U10, U12, +U14, Fastpitch—Start after May 1.

Tennis

Starter Tennis, Tennis for Two with Parent, Youth Lessons—Spring Session canceled.

School Age Care

Canceled during the Shaker Schools' extended three-week spring break.

Fundaze

March 17 and March 23-27—Canceled with full refund.

Swimming Programs

Learn to Swim Parent Child, Preschool All Levels, Youth All Levels, Adult Lessons—Spring Session canceled.

Rink Programs

Ice Show

Postponed until after June 1.

Learn to Skate

All levels, including Baby Blades, Snowplow 1-4, Basic 1-6, Pre-Freestyle, Freestyle 1-6, Adults, and Hockey 1-4—Winter 2 session is canceled with partial refunds; Spring Session is delayed until after May 1.

Youth Hockey

Tryouts delayed until after May 1.

Hockey Skills Clinics (Mighty Mites, Mites, Squirts, Pee Wees, Bantums)—Canceled with partial refunds.

Public Skating and Pick Up Hockey

Temporarily suspended until May 1.

Parents Night Out

Canceled with full refund.

 
Programs not operated by the City of Shaker Heights will decide if these will also be temporarily suspended. This list includes Verb Ballets, Shaker Figure Skating Club, Eastside Men’s Hockey League, Tae Kwon Do, Badminton, Shaker Youth Soccer Association, Shaker Youth Baseball Association, Boys and Girls Youth Lacrosse, and Table Tennis. Please check with each of these organizations for schedule updates.
