Submit Preservation Awards nominations through March 31Nominations may be submitted for any building in Shaker Heights, including homes and apartment buildings, commercial buildings, and other structures. Exterior projects completed after April 2019 are eligible. Award categories include: - Retention of Original Materials

- Distinguished Landscape
- Architecturally Appropriate Addition

Preservation Month Photo Contest Now Accepting SubmissionsThe Shaker Heights Landmark Commission seeks submissions to its tenth annual Preservation Month Photo Contest. The contest was created in honor of National Preservation Month, which is celebrated each May by preservation organizations across the country. The community is invited to submit photos of what makes Shaker "Shaker." Submit photos on Instagram using the hashtag #PreserveSH22 through June 3.

Deadline for Utility Box Design Submissions is March 4The Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) is pleased to announce a juried competition for this year’s utility box project called Painting the Town.
SHAC is looking for artists 21 years or older who live or work in Shaker Heights. Applicants who reside in the Shaker Heights School District or are a member of the Shaker Arts Council are also eligible. Shaker Heights Spring MusicalThe Shaker Heights High School Theatre Arts Department presents this year's spring musical, Barnum, playing Thursday, March 17 through Saturday, March 19 at 7 pm each evening at the Shaker Heights High School large auditorium. This family-friendly production features work from over 50 students, including performers, musicians and students from our stagecraft and theater management classes. Tickets are available now and can be purchased through Shakertheatre.ludus.com.Last Call to Purchase Red & White TicketsThe 30th Annual A Night for the Red & White is Saturday, March 5 at Landerhaven. Tickets may sell out for this year's event; be sure to reserve your tickets now so you won’t miss out on the big celebration. This year’s event supports wellness and success for all Shaker students. Raffle tickets are also available: one package includes everything needed for a special Disney vacation experience and can be used anytime with no expiration date. The second package features a trip to New York City - complete with airfare and hotel, tickets to a Broadway show, and museums; dates are flexible. Anyone over 21 may purchase, and need not be present to win. The silent auction opens online February 28 and features many wonderful donations from Shaker businesses whose support is greatly appreciated!
