Help Shaker Secure Federal Funding

Our staff works hard to get outside funding for City projects — and that includes funding from the U.S. government. You can help! Residents and business owners are invited to submit letters of support to Senator Sherrod Brown and Congresswoman Shontel Brown for two upcoming City projects: Lee Road and the Lomond-Lynnfield Sanitary Sewer Overflow. The City is working to secure funding for these vital community projects through the federal appropriations process and your support could make the difference.
Please submit your email by Friday, May 6. Thank you!

Sustainability Spotlight
Sustainability Spotlight - Plant Natives

Plant Natives

Adding native plants to your garden is a sustainable practice that not only looks beautiful but helps create habitat for native species, including pollinators. Plus, native plants are adapted for our region, which means they're easy to grow and care for. Here are three ways to get started: (1) Read this article — by a Shaker resident — to better understand the benefits of natives; (2) shop the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes 40th Annual Plant Sale for a great selection of natives (details below); (3) join the Heights Native Pollinator Pathway group on Facebook to share ideas (and plants) with your neighbors!
