From the Director
Hello Shaker, Happy New Year! I have been thinking recently about all the New Year resolution articles and advertising we see this time of year. The "New Year, new you" kind of things. But what is wrong with the current (not old) you? This is why I have never been a fan of New Year resolutions. Instead I choose to do things each year that make me happy. Sure, there are recurring hobbies and activities, but I like to spice things up by adding new things to my plate every year. Whether it is trying a new activity, a new vacation spot, or even a new restaurant, change is fun and I always enjoy trying new things. Shaker Recreation winter programs are in full swing, summer camp registration is open, and pool passes are currently on sale. Please check out our offerings. You might even see something of interest that is new to you or your family to try. I picked up ice skating lessons several years ago on a dare and I found a new hobby. It is always a delight to try new things. Be active. Stay healthy. Have fun.
